Singer Zubeen ‘assaulted’ in Guwahati

Popular singer Zubeen Garg was allegedly abused, assaulted, and threatened by some inebriated men, including an office bearer of National Students’ Union of India (NSUI),on Thursday in Guwahati, reports Rokibuz Zaman. An FIR has been filed over the incident that occurred around 12.40 am when night curfew was in place, police said.
“Garg said in his complaint that six people came in a car and abused, insulted and threatened him after blocking his vehicle,” police commissioner Munna Prasad Gupta said.The Assam unit of NSUI suspended one of its district vice-presidents for his alleged involvement in the incident.
