National Voters' Day : Vote & country's development interlinked, PM Modi tells first-time voters

Emphasizing the connection between vote and country's development, Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Thursday urged first-time voters to play a crucial role in shaping the future of Bharat and their own. "Your vote will fasten the country's growth," PM Modi said, adding that the next 25 years are crucial for the youth. He was interacting with over 1 crore first-time voters on National Voters' Day virtually.

NEW DELHI: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Thursday told the country's first-time voters that vote and country's development are interlinked.
"Your vote will fasten the country's growth," PM Modi said, adding that the next 25 years are crucial for the youth.
He was interacting with over 1 crore first-time voters on National Voters' Day virtually.
"On this day, to be among first-time voters fills me with energy.
You have now become the most important part of the democratic process ... In the next 25 years, you have to determine both the future of Bharat and your own," the Prime Minister added.
He told the young voters that only stable government results in big decisions and the BJP government resolved issues pending for decades said.
"When there is a majority government in the country, then there is clarity in policies and decisions. When I meet major world leaders, it is not I alone who meets them but 140 crore Indians are with me. Today, the Indian passport is seen with pride across the world," PM Modi said.

Earlier on Thusday morning, PM Modi greeted people on the National Voters' Day and urged those who have not yet registered themselves as voters to do so.
"Greetings on National Voters Day, an occasion which celebrates our vibrant democracy and also a day to encourage people to register as voters, if they haven't already," he posted on X.
Since 2011, the National Voters' Day has been celebrated on January 25 every year to mark the foundation day of the Election Commission (EC).
