CBI examines K’taka ex-police chief in BJP neta’s murder in ’16
NEW DELHI: Pointing towards a larger conspiracy, the CBI has examined three senior police officials, including a former top cop in the murder case of a BJP politician of Dharwad, Karnataka, in 2016, reports Rajshekhar Jha. Those examined are Pandurang Rane, IPS then commissioner of Hubli Dharwad; Jitender Khanagavi, then DCP Dharawad and presently SP security division, Bengaluru; and Mallikarjun Baladandi, then DCP Crime, Dharwad, now serving as additional SP, Haveri.
“They were supervisory officers during probe by the local police in 2016,” said a source.
