'Yamraj Will Be Waiting For You': CM Yogi Adityanath's Warning To Those Harassing Women In UP

A day after a girl died after miscreants tried pulling her stole (dupatta), UP CM Yogi Adityanath said that those who will harass women in the state, 'yamraj will be waiting for them'.

In an apparent warning, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has said that if anyone harasses women in the state, 'Yamraj' (the God of death) will waiting for them. Speaking at an event in Gorakhpur, the CM said that the state government uses the law to provide security to all, but if someone infiltrates women's protection in the state then no one will be able to stop them from being sent to 'Yamraj'. CM Yogi was referring to a recent incident in Ambedkar Nagar where a girl died after she fell off her cycle when three bike-borne men pulled her stole (dupatta).

"We have said it before that laws will provide protection to every citizen. If someone harasses a daughter walking on the road...On the next crossroad 'Yamraj' will be waiting for them. Then no one will be able to stop from sending him to 'Yamraj'..," the Chief Minister said.

Yogi Adityanath said that security and protection measures would be tightened and anyone who uses it for his benefit, will be punished.

Notably, the Uttar Pradesh police arrested three people after a girl fell off her cycle and died after being hit by a bike when the miscreants pulled her stole (duppatta). The incident took place in Ambedkar Nagar when the girl was returning home from school along with her friend, the police said. A CCTV footage shows the chilling incident where the bike-borne men could be seen pulling the stole after which the girl loses her balance and falls off.

At the same moment, a bike coming from right behind fatally hits her. Locals brought the girl to a hospital where doctors declared her dead.

Police said that a clash broke out between police personnel and the accused after they tried to snatch a police rifle and escape while the police were taking them for a medical check-up. Police shot two of them in the foot and are undergoing treatment at Baskhari Community Health Center.
