'Need To Stop Daydreaming': BJP Lashes Out At Misa Bharti Over 'Will Jail PM' Jibe

Misa Bharti said that if the people of the country voted the I.N.D.I.A bloc to power, 'everyone from PM Modi to BJP leaders would be imprisoned'.

Hitting out at RJD MP Misa Bharti over “PM Modi will be jailed if I.N.D.I.A bloc comes to power” remark, the Bharatiya Janata Party on Thursday said that a woman who's father (Lalu Yadav) has been convicted in the fodder scam should not make such statements. BJP MP Ravi Shankar Prasad said that her family is immersed in corruption and she needs to stop daydreaming.

When asked to comment on the BJP's "appeasement" remarks on the Congress manifesto, Misa Bharti said on Thursday that if the people of the country voted the I.N.D.I.A bloc to power, "everyone from PM Modi to BJP leaders would be imprisoned". Bharti, in response to PM Modi's continued corruption charges against her family, stated that PM Modi is ignoring nepotism in his own party while attacking others.

On RJD leader Misa Bharti's remark, Prasad said, "What has happened to Misa Bharti?...The woman who's father (Lalu Yadav) has been convicted in the fodder scam...I warn her to not make such statements...You family is immeresed in corruption...You need to stop daydreaming."

BJP chief JP Nadda said that the RJD keeps abusing PM Modi and their disappointment and frustration are at peak. "They (RJD) keep abusing PM Modi. Their disappointment and frustration are at peak. For 23 years, PM Modi has worked as the prime leader of the nation. For such a leader, Misa Bharti is saying that she will send him to jail after elections," Nadda said.

Union Minister Hardeep Singh Puri said, "She said that when we will come in power, first she should be asked what they think? Till 2029 is fixed, what will happen after 2029, we will see that. Their (RJD) scam such as fodder scam. They built a road on a piece of paper and never implemented it on the ground."

Maharashtra Deputy CM Devendra Fadnavis said, "First she (Misa Bharti) should think about herself and her family. These people are stuck in so many types of scams and corruptions. these are not the allegations we have made, the court has punished them. They should stop making fun of democracy and judiciary by saying such things."

BJP National General Secretary Vinod Tawade said that the country wants to hear if the corrupt will be sent to jail or not. "The level of opposition's campaign has stooped so low that they are talking about "Modi ji marega". RJD's Misa ji, daughter of Lalu ji, has said that Modi ji will be put in jail. The country wants to hear if the corrupt will sent to jail or not. The opposition's campaign is at a level where someone is talking about sending leaders to jail and someone is talking of death," Tawade said.

Former Bihar Deputy CM and RJD leader Tejashwi Yadav said, "I have nothing to do with it...Work should be done in the country. If the Prime Minister is coming, he should tell what he will do for Bihar in 5 years...this should be discussed."

BJP leader Shehzad Poonawalla slammed Bharti's comments and said that these pople feel that they are above the law and Constitution of this country. "This is the true reflection of the mindset...First of all, she is unsure whether people will give them a chance...Who is she threatening? Is she threatening the judges who convicted her father (Lalu Prasad Yadav) in 2013 when the BJP government was not even there?...These people feel that they are above the law and Constitution of this country," Poonawalla said.

On Misa Bharti's statement, Bihar Deputy CM Vijay Sinha said, "Who put their family in jail? Congress. And today, they are with Congress cheering for them... They used to live in servant quarters. From where did they get these palaces and farmhouses. The ED, IT and CBI are asking the same questions... Instead of answering these questions, they want to send him to jail who is honest and 140 crore people consider him as family (PM Modi)."

Bharti statement came when a reporter asked her to comment on the saffron party's "appeasement" take on the grand old party's manifesto, to which Misa Bharti responded that the opposition bloc is talking about the implementation of MSP and he (PM Modi) sees appeasement in that.

Misa Bharti went on to say, "He always accuses our family of corruption whenever he arrives here (Bihar). If the people of this country give the INDIA Alliance a chance (to form the government), then from PM Modi to BJP leaders, they will be behind bars."
