World Cup-winning Indian cricketer Yuvraj Singh, who made his ODI debut in the year 2000, announced his retirement from all forms of the game in June last year. Yuvraj Singh has been highly celebrated due to his performance in the 2011 World Cup, that India won under MS Dhoni’s captaincy, in which he was the Man of the Tournament.

Just 14 months post his retirement, the veteran player is ready to reverse his decision and come out of retirement to play for Punjab in the delayed domestic T20 season, so learns India Today. Earlier, the veteran batsman had lashed out at the BCCI for creating a mess that led to the Indian team’s exit from the World Cup.

"In this World cup, they dropped (Ambati) Rayudu and then they had Vijay Shankar, who had some injury and then Rishabh Pant came in. I have nothing against them but both played five ODI games, I mean how do you expect a guy with such less experience to win big matches," Yuvraj Singh had said in an interview last year.

"My issue is what the think-tank was doing. Dinesh Karthik was going through the tournament and suddenly he plays the semifinals and a guy like MS Dhoni is batting at no 7. It was all hotchpotch. You can't do that in such big matches, you have to be sure.”

He who had thought that he was done with cricket, has been eager to come back and also written to the BCCI for the same.
