How did India perform in Tokyo?

India had a memorable outing in the Tokyo Olympics as they won an Olympic medal in hockey after a gap of 41 years. India, led by Manpreet Singh, defeated Germany 5-4 in the bronze medal match. India were 1-3 down before they staged a stupendous comeback.

Simranjeet Singh (2 goals), Harmanpreet Singh and Rupinder Pal Singh scored to end India’s long and agonising wait for a hockey medal at the biggest stage.

Recently, Manpreet went down the memory lane to India’s stupendous campaign in Tokyo two and half years ago. He rated it as his most special memory in his illustrious career.

“It was an unbelievable feeling to win the Bronze medal at the Olympics; that had always been my dream since I started playing for the national team. I felt immensely proud when we finally clinched an Olympic medal in hockey after 41 years. It is a significant achievement and will always remain close to my heart,” Manpreet said.
