After the 19-year-old victim of the Hathras gang rape incident succumbed to her injuries and died in a Delhi hospital on Tuesday, Team India and RCB captain Virat Kohli expressed shock and said that the perpetrators of the heinous crime should be brought to justice.

The gang rape incident of a 19-year-old woman has shocked India once again and brought back memories of several heinous crimes against the daughters of this nation. The woman who was gang raped and brutally tortured by a group of 4 men in Uttar Pradesh's Hathras battled hard but succumbed to her injuries and died in a Delhi hospital on Tuesday.

The woman had suffered multiple fractures, paralysis and a deep cut in her tongue in the horrendous assault and the incident by many is being compared to the 2012 Nirbhaya gang-rape.

Entire nation is again fuming in anger and disappointment and is asking the authorities to punish the 4 perpetrators as soon as possible. #JusticeForManishaValmiki has been a top trend on Twitter and joining the chorus is non other than Team India and RCB captain Virat Kohli himself.

The cricketer is in UAE and plying his trade in the IPL 2020 but the intensity of the crime has left him shocked and bereaved. Virat Kohli on Tuesday, took to Twitter to express his shock and wrote, "What happened in #Hathras is inhumane and goes beyond cruelty. Hope the culprits of this heinous crime will be brought to justice. #JusticeForManishaValmiki."

All four attackers, hailing from the village of the deceased, have been nabbed and are in jail. The have been accused of murder.

The 19-year-old was attacked on September 14 at her village in Hathras, some 200 km from Delhi. In her statement to the police, she had said that she was dragged by her 'dupatta' into the fields from a spot where she was cutting grasses with her mother and brother.
