Bengal pacer Ashok Dinda was hit on the head while attempting a caught-and-bowled chance during Bengal's Twenty20 practice game at the Eden Gardens in Kolkata on Monday. Dinda was practicing with the Bengal team under the guidance of consultant VVS Laxman.

The incident took place when Birender Vivek Singh played an uppish drive straight to Dinda, who attempted the catch on his follow through. The ball hit Dinda's hands and ricocheted to hit his forehead.

Dinda was seen lying on the ground with his hands on his forehead as teammates rushed to his help. Later a medical staff at the Eden Gardens also attended to him at the ground.

He, however, got up and even blowed a few deliveries but CAB officials took him to the hospital after he complained of dizziness.

A CT scan was done and doctors said that the cricketer was fine and injury was not serious.

"Dinda looked fine as he completed the over before returning back to the dressing room. As a precautionary measure, he was taken for scans. There is nothing alarming but he has been advised two days of rest," a CAB official was quoted as saying by PTI.
