Veteran actress Vidya Sinha admitted to Mumbai hospital, on ventilator

Pati Patni Aur Woh actress Vidya Sinha has been hospitalised in Mumbai after she complained of breathlessness on Thursday.

Actress Vidya Sinha, who is known for her roles in films like Pati Patni Aur Woh and Chhoti Si Baat, is hospitalised after she complained of breathlessness on Thursday. The actress has been admitted to CritiCare Hospital in Mumbai where she has been put on ventilator support. According to reports, she was diagnosed with lung and heart disorders.

As per a report in an entertainment website, while her blood pressure and pulse rate are normal at the moment, she has been put under observation in Intensive Care Unit (ICU). The report added that she has been kept on PAP (Positive airway Pressure) ventilator.

As reported by Hindustan Times, doctors say that Vidya is much better and she is well on her way to recovery. A hospital official told the daily, "Her prolonged medical issues had aggravated, leading to breathlessness and she even developed heart and lung disorders, leading to more breathlessness. All that has been taken care of."

However, the official added that the actress may not be discharged from the hospital anytime soon. The official said, "The doctors are yet to decide (about her discharge from the hospital). She will have to stay here for a few days for complete recovery."

Vidya Sinha is best known for films like Rajnigandha and Chhoti Si Baat. After taking a hiatus from films, the actress returned to cinema with Salman Khan's Bodyguard. She is a known face on television and has worked with Ekta Kapoor in Kaavyanjali (2006).

The actress married her neighbour Venkateshwaran Iyer in 1968 and adopted a daughter, Jhanvi. After the death of her husband in 1996, she married Netaji Bhimrao Salunkhe in 2001. She divorced him in 2009 after having a troublesome relationship. She also filed a complaint of domestic violence against her former husband in January 2009.
