PUNJAB GOVERNMENT DECLARES SONU SOOD COVID VACCINE AMBASSADOR

Chief Minister Captain Amarinder Singh made the announcement a day after meeting Sonu, who called on him at his residence on Saturday, April 10. “There is no one more ideally suited to inspire and influence people to take the vaccine. There is a lot of hesitancy among people here in Punjab. Sonu’s popularity among them and his exemplary role in helping tens of thousands of migrants reach safely home since the pandemic broke out last year will help counter their reservations,” said the Chief Minister.

He added, “When people hear this Punjab da puttar talk about the benefits of vaccine and how safe and essential it is, they will believe him. Because they trust him.”

SONU SOOD FEELS BLESSED TO BE PART OF THE CAMPAIGN

Sonu Sood is elated to be the Covid vaccine campaign ambassador of the Punjab government. He said, “I feel blessed to be playing any part in this huge campaign of the Punjab government to protect the lives of the people of my home state.”

On the occasion, Sonu Sood also presented his book I am no Messiah to Chief Minister Amarinder Singh. The actor has written the book, which he says captures his journey from Moga to Mumbai. He said, “I truly believe I am no saviour. I am just a human being playing my own small part in the big plans of God. If I can, in the process, touch any lives in any manner, I can only say — God has blessed me, he is guiding me to fulfil my duty.”

SONU SOOD RAISES AWARENESS ABOUT COVID-19 VACCINE

Sonu Sood has launched Sanjeevani A Shot of Life, an initiative that aims to spread awareness about the Covid-19 vaccine. He also received the first dose of the vaccine on April 7 as part of the same awareness campaign. Sharing the update on Twitter, he wrote, “Got my vaccine today, and now it's time to get whole of my country vaccinated. Started the biggest vaccination drive 'Sanjeevani' which will bring awareness and get our people vaccinated (sic).” He also urged the Ministry of Health to announce Covid-19 vaccinations for all those who are aged 25 years and above.
