Netizens mistook actor Rahul Bhat for Alia Bhatt's half-brother Rahut Bhatt and tagged him on posts talking about the ongoing debate of nepotism in Bollywood.

Tired of these posts, Rahul took to Twitter to clear that he isn't related to Alia Bhatt. The actor also supported Alia and said that she is a brilliant actress.

He wrote, "If u call @aliaa08 a product of #Nepotism then you are harming the entire debate. She is a brilliant, gifted actor, she is here because she is capable of carrying a film on her shoulders. Ps- I ain’t her brother so don’t tag me nonsense without verifying who it is u r referring to (sic)”

Trolls even tried to target Rahul saying that he wants to do a film with Alia's father Mahesh Bhatt.

He replied saying, "NO, I really don’t like movies that her father makes lately , ab bolo? (sic)."

Alia's half-brother, Rahul Bhatt, is Mahesh Bhatt's son from his first wife Kiran Bhatt. Also known as Sunny, he is a fitness trainer and an actor.

Rahul Bhat started his career with the television show Heena. He made his Bollywood debut with Yeh Mohabbat Hai (2002). He starred in Anurag Kashyap's 2013 film Ugly, which gained him a lot of praises from both the audience and critics.
