Bas karo: Swara Bhasker reacts to Kangana Ranaut's response to Jaya Bachchan's thali comment

Swara Bhasker took to Twitter and reacted to Kangana Ranaut’s response to Samajwadi Party MP Jaya Bachchan’s thali comment that she passed during the Zero Hour in Rajya Sabha on Tuesday (September 15). Swara, writing in Hindi, called Kangana’s comment on Jaya Bachchan as ‘shameful’. Swara further wrote that if Kangana wants to hurl abuses at someone, she (Swara) is happy to hear them and fight it out with her. However, Indian culture teaches us to respect the elderly. She also reminded Kangana of being a rigid nationalist.

Swara wrote, “Sickening Kangana. Shameful comment! Bas karo please. Apne zehen ki gandagi khud tak seemit rakho. Gaali deni hai toh mujhe do, main tumhari bakwaasein khushi khushi sunungi aur yeh keechad kushti bhi ladungi tumhaare sath. Badon ki izzat Bhartiya sanskriti ka pehla sabak hai, aur tum toh kathit rashtravaadi ho (Limit your dirt to yourself. If you want to hurl abuses, direct them towards me. I will listen to your rubbish talks happily and will also indulge in this mud-wrestling with you. But respecting the elderly is the first lesson of Indian culture. And you are a rigid nationalist)."

Kangana Ranaut had responded to Jaya Bachchan’s Rajya Sabha speech. Kangana wrote in Hindi, “Kaun si thaali di hai Jaya ji aur unki industry ne? Ek thaali mili thi jismein do minute ke role, item numbers aur ek romantic scene milta tha. Vo bhi hero ke sath sone ke baad. Maine is industry ko feminism sikhaya, thaali desh bhakti naaripradhan filmon se sajai, yeh meri apni thaali hai Jaya Ji, aapki nahi. (Which thaali did Jaya ji and her industry offered to me? I got one thaali in which I used to get two-minute roles, item numbers and one romantic scene. That too after sleeping with the hero. I taught feminism to this industry and decorated the thaali with films on women empowerment. This is my own thaali, Jaya ji, not yours.)

Veteran actress Jaya Bachchan had taken a firm stand for celebrities in her speech in the Rajya Sabha on Tuesday. She had also raised the issue of a conspiracy to “defame the film industry”. Jaya Bachchan had said that the people who made their names in the industry have called it a ‘gutter’. She also said that she hopes the government stands by the entertainment industry, as celebs have always stood by them. “I hope that the government tells such people not to use this kind of language. Jis thali mein khate hai usme chhed karte hain. Galat baat hai,” Jaya Bachchan had said.

Kangana Ranaut, in one of her previous tweets, had referred to Bollywood as a gutter. She wrote, "If narcotics Control Bureau enters Bullywood, many A listers will be behind bars, if blood tests are conducted many shocking revelations will happen. Hope @PMOIndia under swatchh Bharat mission cleanses the gutter called Bullywood (sic)."

Kangana’s comments came after the NCB started investigating the Sushant Singh Rajput death case. The NCB is probing the drug angle in the case and has arrested Rhea Chakraborty, her brother Showik, Sushant Singh Rajput’s manager Samuel Miranda and cook Dipesh Sawant for procurement of drugs. Six drug peddlers have also been taken into custody by the NCB.
