Sonam Kapoor is making the right noise with her choice of films. After bringing the life of Neerja Bhanot on screen with Ram Madhvani's film, the 34-year-old actress joined Akshay Kumar for Pad Man. This wasn't all. Sonam did not shy away from playing a homosexual on the 70 mm in Ek Ladki Ko Dekha Toh Aisa Laga. And now she is ready to introduce cinephiles to Zoya Solanki. A character that she's playing in her upcoming film The Zoya Factor.

Directed by Abhishek Sharma, the film is based on a novel by Anuja Chauhan. In the film, Sonam plays Zoya Solanki, an executive in an advertising agency, who ends up becoming a lucky charm for the Indian Cricket team during World Cup 2011.

With only a few days left for the film to hit the screens, Sonam is busy promoting her film. But amid her busy schedule, the actress sat for a chit-chat with Cosmopolitan India.

Talking about The Zoya Factor, Sonam said, "It's a very special film for me and I'm dedicating all my time and energy on its release."

While Sonam is gearing up for the release of The Zoya Factor, her last film Ek Ladki Ko Dekha Toh Aisa Laga was lauded by critics and fans for dealing with the subject of homosexuality with sensitivity, and sans any stereotypes.

But such films are a rare sight in Bollywood, which is mostly plagued by stereotypes. However, the Neerja actress believes that there's a wave of change in the film industry.

"Of late, there have been several films that have broken stereotypes. Cinema, for the longest time, has shown certain sections of society in a particular light. That's changing with more films focusing on issues plaguing people from all walks of life, and portraying them in a true and honest manner," added Sonam Kapoor.
