Atrangi Re: Akshay Kumar, Sara Ali Khan and Dhanush to resume shooting in October

Akshay Kumar, Sara Ali Khan and Dhanush will resume shooting for Atrangi Re in October 2020 in Madurai. The film’s shoot began in the first week of March this year but had to be stopped due to the novel coronavirus pandemic. Atrangi Re is being directed by Aanand L Rai.

Taran Adarsh shared details of the film resuming shoot on Twitter. He wrote, “UPDATE... #AkshayKumar, #Dhanush and #SaraAliKhan... #AanandLRai to commence second shooting schedule of #AtrangiRe from Oct 2020 in #Madurai... Music by #ARRahman... Here's a glimpse from the film (sic)."

Atrangi Re is a cross-cultural love story and marks Aanand L Rai’s return to the director’s chair after 2018 film Zero starring Shah Rukh Khan, Anushka Sharma and Katrina Kaif. The film was slated to release on Valentine's Day 2021 but with the shoot being deferred, the release date is also likely to get postponed.

As the world tries to get back on its feet during the novel coronavirus crisis, film and television shoots are slowly resuming while adhering to guidelines issued by the government.

Akshay Kumar will also be seen in Bell Bottom starring Vaani Kapoor as the female lead. The film will soon resume shooting in the UK. A chartered plane will be arranged for the entire unit and the producers will ensure proper safety measures and medical facilities.

Meanwhile, Akshay Kumar’s Laxmmi Bomb is set to have its digital premier on Disney+Hotstar. The actor’s Sooryavanshi is expected to release in theatres after the novel coronavirus crisis.
