Ishaqzaade hit the screens on May 11, 2012.

Ishaqzaade turned eight today. The 2012 Habib Faisal-directed film marked Arjun Kapoor's Bollywood debut and starred Parineeti Chopra opposite him.

Naturally, Arjun took this moment to remember his debut movie. He shared a series of pictures of himself holding the original script of Ishaqzaade in his hands, along with a long note talking about his big break.

In the caption, Arjun revealed how Ishaqzaade taught him the worth of self-belief and gave him confidence, and also how he used to "scribble" notes on his script while prepping for his role. He also thanked the team of Ishaqzaade, with special mentions to producer Aditya Chopra, director Habib Faisal, casting director Shanoo Sharma and his co-star Parineeti Chopra.

Yesterday I found my original shooting script of Ishaqzaade with notes scribbled in them from 8 years ago. At that point of time in my life, self-belief was one thing that mattered the most for me & that's what I got out of Ishaqzaade. Thank you Aditya Chopra for taking a chance with me, Habib Faisal sir for making me a part of your vision, Shanoo Sharma for drilling confidence in me & asking me to finally express myself, Parineeti for being the best co-star that I could have wished for & the entire team of Ishaqzaade for being patient with me every day on shoot - all your silent support made me believe that I could do this, but most importantly Thank you all of you who welcomed me & that wicked smile of mine !!! (PS - that’s me actually looking at the sun & reminiscing in the first picture.) #8YearsOfIshaqzaade @parineetichopra @yrf @shanoosharmarahihai #HabibFaisal

"Yesterday I found my original shooting script of Ishaqzaade with notes scribbled in them from 8 years ago. Arjun's co-star Parineeti, however, had a question for him, and a hilarious one at that.

"Why aren't you telling them about your spellings in those notes (sic)?" asked Parineeti in the comments, to which, Arjun replied, "f**k & the handwriting (sic)." We wonder what Arjun isn't telling us.

Arjun also shared a montage of Ishaqzaade posters with the title track of the film playing in the background. The quirky caption is just what's on everyone's mind during the lockdown.

Playing on the song, Chokra Jawaan, Arjun wrote, "Iss saal, chokra hua ghar baithe baithe jawaan #8YearsOfIshaqzaade (sic)." We feel ya.

Arjun's sister Anshula Kapoor dropped red-heart emojis in the comment section.

Parineeti Chopra, who received a National Film Award Special Mention for the 2012 film, posted a few pictures of the same and thanked her team. She especially thanked Aditya Chopra, Habib Faisal, Shanoo Sharma and Gauahar Khan.

"THE FILM THAT GAVE ME THIS #NationalAward #SpecialMention #Grateful #Blessed #8YearsOfIshaqzaade. Thankyou Adi, Habib Sir, Arjun, Shanoo, Gauahar, and my entire Ishaqzaade family for changing my life forever. @arjunkapoor You became my first friend from the industry and will always remain so (sic)," she had written on Twitter.

Parineeti also shared a behind-the-scenes clip from the sets of Ishaqzaade in another tweet. "Zoya Qureshi ... thankyou for changing my life girl #8yearsOfIshaqzaade...(sic)," the post reads.

It is worth mentioning here that Arjun's mother Mona Kapoor died in March the very same year, just months before Arjun's debut film hit the theatres. The 2 States actor has time and again expressed regret over the fact that his mother couldn't see him on screen, something she very much wanted to.

I wish I could be at home like this today would have felt safe & maybe even smiled more than anyone has ever seen me smile. It’s been 8 years today since you left us Mom... the world has come to a standstill now but mine & @anshulakapoor s world was shattered when u left forget standing still.... we have tried to pick up the pieces some days are tougher than others though... I’ve managed to survive 8 years of being an actor & a working individual she’s also started her own business with @fankindofficial !!! Anshula more or less runs the house and I run to her if I need something in the house or in life... the world has changed Maa right now in this moment I wish I had you at home would have spent so much time with u that I couldn’t when I was trying to lose weight do my acting classes and when I was away shooting ishaqzaade during ur chemotherapy... would have tried to make up for the nonstop sprinting that I would have been upto and maybe taken u for granted... I love u Maa I miss u Maa... I miss having ur name show up on my phone to check up on me... I just hope wherever you are you are happy and watching over ur 2 brats
