Abhimanyu Dassani announces new film Aankh Micholi with Mrunal Thakur: I got my eyes on you
Abhimanyu Dassani took to Instagram to announce his upcoming film Aankh Micholi. The film also stars Mrunal Thakur, Paresh Rawal, Sharman Joshi and Vijay Raaz.
Bhagyashree's son Abhimanyu Dassani made his Bollywood debut with Mard Ko Dard Nahi Hota in 2018. The actor, who will soon be seen in the Shilpa Shetty-starrer Nikamma, releasing this year, has been roped in for Umesh Shukla's Aankh Micholi. Abhimanyu has been cast as the male lead in Aankh Micholi and Mrunal Thakur will play his love interest. Mrunal was last seen in Karan Johar's segment of the Netflix anthology, Ghost Stories (2019).
Abhimanyu announced Aankh Micholi on social media today (February 20).
Abhimanyu took to Instagram to share a photo of the star cast of the film, which includes Mrunal, Paresh Rawal, Sharman Joshi, Divya Dutta, Abhishek Banerjee, Darshan Jariwala, Vijay Raaz and Grusha Kapoor. The Mard Ko Dard Nahi Hota actor also announced that Aankh Micholi will hit the screens on Diwali 2020.
He wrote, "Film3 - This Diwali I got my eyes on you! Come play #AankhMicholi! With this crazy family. #Diwali2020."
Mrunal also shared the picture on her Instagram handle and wrote, "This Diwali, play Aankh Micholi with us."
Apart from Abhimanyu and Mrunal, the picture was also posted by Sharman, Abhishek and Vijay on Instagram.
Aankh Micholi is the story of a family of misfits and is touted as the complete family entertainer.
"The film is very close to my heart and I am proud to have been able to bring such an exciting cast together for the film. The family entertainer is a story of a family of misfits. Since it's a complete family entertainer, we thought of releasing the film in Diwali and I can promise that the audiences will be in for a laugh riot," Umesh Shukla told PTI.
Aankh Micholi will be shot across India and Europe.
Umesh Shukla's last Bollywood film was Amitabh Bachchan and Rishi Kapoor's 102 Not Out, that released in 2018. He also helmed Modi: Journey of a Common Man (2019), a web series based on the life of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
