Senior NCP leader DP Tripathi passed away on Thursday after a prolonged period of illness. The NCP General Secretary passed away at the age of 67.
Soon after the news of his demise, NCP MP Supriya Sule said she was saddened to hear about his demise and offered her condolences to Tripathi's family.
Deeply saddened to hear about the demise of Shri D.P Tripathi Ji," Sule wrote in a post on Twitter.
He was the General Secretary of NCP, and a guide and mentor to all of us. We will miss his wise counsel and guidance which he had given us from the day NCP was established. May he rest in peace. My thoughts and prayers with his family members. Heartfelt Condolences, she added.
NCP supremo Sharad Pawar offered his condolences on DP Tripathi's death. He tweeted, "Saddened to hear about the demise of our NCP General Secretary Shri DP Tripathi ji. He was a scholar and a perfect blend of diligence and intelligence in politics. A firm voice who took a stand for my party as a Spokesperson and General Secretary. He has been with us since the establishment of the Nationalist Congress Party and played a very important role at the national level. His demise is a personal loss to me. May his soul rest in peace!"
Minister of Environment, Forest and Climate Change, Prakash Javadekar, also tweeted, "DP Tripathi was a renowned political thinker, who worked throughout his life despite visual impairment. He was an intellectual. He was a dear friend of mine. Deeply saddened by his passing away. My heartfelt condolences. Om Shanti."
