Bengal: Kolkata airport to remain shut for 7 days in August due to complete lockdown
Operations at the Kolkata airport shall remain suspended on August 5, 8, 16, 17, 23, 24 and 31 due to complete lockdown announced by the state government on those days.
Authorities at the Kolkata airport have announced suspension of flight operations at the airport for seven days in August in view of the complete lockdown announced by the West Bengal government.
In a statement the airport said operations at the Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose International Airport shall remain suspended on August 5, 8, 16, 17, 23, 24 and 31 due to complete lockdown announced by the state government on those days.
The airport has also requested passengers to contact individual airline operators for information about rescheduled flights.

Earlier this month, the Kolkata airport had suspended in-bound flights from specific 'hotspot' locations into Kolkata on the request of the Mamata Banerjee government in a bid to "restrict movement from high prevalence cities of coronavirus".
Flights from Delhi, Mumbai, Pune, Nagpur, Chennai and Ahmedabad were suspended between July 6 and 19 to curb the spread of Covid-19 in Kolkata and West Bengal.
