Azam Khan’s comments led to an uproar in the Lok Sabha following which the members of the House demanded an apology.

As Speaker Om Birla resumed the Chair, he reprimanded Azam Khan and asked for his apology. Speaker Om Birla also gave instructions to expunge the objectionable part.

As the MPs demanded an apology, Akhilesh Yadav came to Azam Khan’s defence and said the BJP was the most "indecent" party in terms of the language they use in Parliament.

Refusing to apologise, Azam Khan said he was ready to tender his resignation if he said anything that was unparliamentary. Azam Khan and Akhilesh Yadav later walked out of the Lok Sabha.
