Popular Assam singer Zubeen Garg joins anti-Citizenship Amendment Bill protest

Zubeen Garg appealed to the protesting students to not take law and order in their hands and said that if the bill is passed it will harm the culture of Assam.

Popular singer of Assam Zbeen Garg on Friday joined the anti-Citizenship Amendment Bill protests going on across Assam.

Zubeen Garg joined the protests by students of Cotton University and other colleges of Assam against the Citizenship Amendment Bill.

Zubeen Garg said that the Citizenship Amendment Bill will harm the Assamese culture. "Our protest against the bill will continue. We will move the Supreme Court if need be. I will be the first person to stand before the Supreme Court," Zubeen Garg said.

Zubeen Garg also appealed to the protesting students to not take law and order in their hands.

"Don't do politics my friend," Zubeen Garg said.

Zubeen Garg added, "The Citizenship Amendment Bill should never come to Assam. Our neighbouring states like Nagaland and Mizoram will not be affected, only Assam will be affected by this bill."
