This comes even as the body of 1.5-year-old Divyansh, who fell into a gutter in Goegaon on July 10, is yet to be recovered.

The infant was strolling outside his house at night when Mumbai was being pounded by heavy rain and he slipped into the open gutter.

As the inconsolable family cried for help and protested on the streets, BMC and police personnel swung into action.

However, they are yet to find the body and fear that the little boy may have been swayed into the Arabian Sea.

Now, just days later, another boy has drowned in a drain in a similar incident.

Meanwhile, on Friday, a 12-year-old boy died after falling into a water-filled pit, dug for the construction of the Coastal Road near Worli.

Bablu Kumar Paswan drowned in the pit near Worli Sea Link at 1.20 pm on Friday, said an official of the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC).
