Jaya Prada breaks down in Rampur rally while recalling attacks by Azam Khan

Actor-turned-politician and BJP candidate from Rampur parliamentary constituency Jaya Prada broke down as she addressed a rally in the constituency. Jaya Prada said that she was forced to leave the constituency because of attacks by Samajwadi Party's Azam Khan.
"I left Rampur because they tried to attack me with acid," she alleged.

Jaya Prada has represented Rampur (Uttar Pradesh) twice in past. She registered victories during 2004 and 2009 elections on Samajwadi Party ticket.
Azam Khan and Jaya Prada are allies turned bitter foes. Jaya Prada was caught in faction wars within Samajwadi Party and was considered to be part of Amar Singh camp.
In 2014 Lok Sabha elections, Jaya Prada contested on a Rashtriya Lok Dal (RLD) ticket from Bijnor parliamentary constituency in Uttar Pradesh. She suffered defeat.
Jaya Prada was addressing the rally after she filed her nomination papers on Wednesday. She visited a temple before she filed her nomination papers.
This time, she will fight against Azam Khan who is contesting Lok Sabha elections for the first time.
Azam Khan and Jaya Prada have traded barbs in past. Azam Khan has even made sexist remarks against Jaya Prada. When Jaya Prada likened Khan with Alauddin Khilji, the SP leader called her a "naachne wali".
Jaya Prada has also alleged that Azam Khan circulated CDs containing morphed images of Jaya Prada in the past.
Other leaders from the Samajwadi Party have also made sexist comments against Jaya Prada. Feroze Khan, a close aide of Azam Khan said that Jaya Prada will entertain people of Rampur with her 'ghungroos' and 'thumkas'.
Feroze Khan was pulled up by National Commission for Women. The commission sought an explanation from Feroze Khan. Even a case was registered against him.
