PM Modi interacts with Governors on Covid

Interacting with Governors of states on Covid-19 situation and the vaccination drive, Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Wednesday suggested that the Governors can “actively engage to ensure that social institutions collaborate seamlessly with state governments towards micro containment”, according to the PMO. “He said that their social network can help ensure an increase in the capacity of ambulances, ventilators, and oxygen in hospitals,” the PMO said in a statement.

Modi emphasised the significance of increasing tracking, tracing and testing, and said that RTPCR testing needs to be increased from 60% to 70%. Modi also said that “along with spreading the message about vaccination and treatment, the Governors can also spread awareness about AYUSH-related remedies,” the PMO stated.

Recently, the Press Council of India had issued an advisory, asking the media to “refrain from publication of any misleading or false claims of Covid-19 treatment with Aayush drugs”.
