New Delhi: The South Africa Cricket Board announced both red and white ball squads for the upcoming series against the Indian cricket team that is set to start from December 10. Temba Bavuma and Kagiso Rabad have been dropped from the white-ball setup following the semi-final exit from the ICC ODI World Cup 2023. Bavuma will return to captain the side in Test cricket.

Aiden Markram will be leading the Proteas side against the Men in Blue in One Day Internationals and T20Is. CSA made this announcement from their official X handle and wrote “CSA has today named the Proteas squads for the all-format inbound tour against India from 10 Dec – 7 Jan. Captain Temba Bavuma and Kagiso Rabada are amongst a group of players that have been omitted for the white-ball leg of the tour in order to play red-ball cricket as emphasis is placed on the Test series for which both will return.”

Another big name that is missing from the South African squad is star batter Quinton de Kock. However, unlike Bavuma and Rabada, the wicket-keeper batter is not included in any squad be it white ball or red. He is most probably rested after the World Cup.

The series will begin with the three-match T20I affair on December 10 at the Kingsmead Stadium. The second T20I will be played on December 12 at the St George’s Oval. The 20-over format will conclude on December 14 at the Wanderers Stadium.

The 50-over clash will kick off on December 17 at the Wanderers Stadium. The second and final ODI will be played on December 19 and December 21 respectively.

Young batter Tristan Stubbs has been added to the Test squad for the first time, along with batter David Bedingham and fast bowler Nandre Burger.
