Ravindra Jadeja and MS Dhoni combined to get rid of the ever-so-dangerous Glenn Maxwell for 47 off 31 balls. It was a massive wicket as Maxwell was timing the ball well and was looking ominous from India’s point of view in the 3rd ODI at Ranchi. It was a short ball from Kuldeep, which Maxwell played towards Jadeja. His fault was he challenged Jadeja’s arm and that brought about his downfall. Jadeja’s throw was at the stumps as Dhoni got the ball and did the rest. Dhoni had to just give direction to the ball and Maxwell was short of his ground. The dismissal brought about a huge roar in the stadium when the third umpire adjudicated out and it was out there on the big screen for everyone to see.

Meanwhile, Australia lost the toss and was asked to bat first. The visitors got off to a dream start as the openers put on a 191-run-stand. Finch missed out on his ton, whereas Khawaja slammed a century, he scored 104. Kuldeep Yadav was the pick of the Indian bowlers as he scalped three wickets. The dismissal of Maxwell was important as he could have made a difference of 20-30 runs to the final total.

The Men in Blue already enjoys a 2-0 lead in the ongoing five-match ODI series and Kohli’s men would like to seal it at Ranchi.
