Filmmaker Karan Johar‘s mother Hiroo Johar has turned 76 years old today, on March 18. Karan hosted a birthday party for his mother at a popular restaurant in Mumbai. Now, a video of Hiroo’s birthday speech from the party is going viral on the internet. While it shows her getting emotional, the video is also proof of the sweet bond she shares with her son. It shows her gearing up to deliver a speech as her son seems busy chatting up with others.
In the speech, Hiroo thanks everyone in her family and her friends for attending the birthday party. The video shows her telling all that she loves them very much as Karan concludes the speech by saying they should do such celebration every alternate year. Watch the video here:
The party was attended by Hiroo’s friends namely Jaya Bachchan, Sharmila Tagore, Salma Khan, Reema Kapoor, Shobha Kapoor and Shammi Kapoor’s wife Neila Devi. Even Karan shared a lovely picture from the party wishing her dear mom a very happy birthday. He has captioned the image as, “Happy birthday to the big love of my life!!!! Happy birthday mama!!!! ❤️❤️❤️ love you so much!!!!❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️” (sic)
Karan has always been quite vocal about the kind of bond he shares with her mother. In his autobiography An Unsuitable Boy, he explained that while growing up it was his mother and her sisters who had the maximum impact on his life. He said that he learnt the act of kindness, the attitude of never giving up and the importance of emotions in one’s life from her. Recently, in an interview, Karan opened up on how Hiroo has been playing the role of a mother not to him but also to his kids as well. We wish her a very happy birthday!
