New Delhi: Even as migrants from across the country are on the move back to their native places in view of the ongoing 21-day nationwide lockdown due to the coronavirus pandemic, a Madhya Pradesh policewoman inscribed a ‘message’ on the forehead of a labourer and was thus issued a show-cause notice.
The incident has been reported from Gorihar area of Chhatarpur district of the state. Three labourers were on their way back from Uttar Pradesh, when they were taken to the primary health centre by the police for a medical examination.
At the centre, while the three were waiting for their turn, they were scolded by the Sub-Inspector for ‘violating’ the lockdown. She then went on to inscribe a message on the forehead of one of the labourers, which read: “Stay away from me as I have violated the lockdown.”

Taking cognisance of the incident, Chhatarpur SP Kumar Saurabh called it ‘unacceptable,’ adding that the SI is being acted against as per the law.
Lashing out at Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan, the opposition Congress tweeted: “Insensitive Shivraj government. The police wrote ‘I violated the lockdown, stay away from me’ on the forehead of a labourer. Shivraj has given only two options to the people: Either die due to corona or of hunger.”
“Shivraj ji, you’ve written this not on the forehead of a labourer, but on that of Mother India,” the tweet further said.
pic.twitter.com/msg7zSOPPO— MP Congress (@INCMP) March 29, 2020
