Mumbai: Two men fired gunshots at Salman Khan‘s residence, Galaxy Apartment, on Sunday at 5 am. The Bishnoi gang, led by currently imprisoned gangster Lawrence Bishnoi, claimed responsibility for the attack in a social media post. The plan was organised and shaped in the US where Lawrence‘s brother, Anmol Bishnoi is currently settled. The gang hired shooters in India who travelled from Raigad to Bandra via Panvel and lived in the city for 15 days before executing their plan. However, could the incident be avoided if there was more security in place at that time? One of the media reports has mentioned something that hints at a possible security breach on the day the firing took place.

A report published in NDTV claims that the plan was executed by gangster Rohit Gadora who was also involved in the killings of Raju Theth, Gurugram-based businessman Sachin Munjal and Karni Sena chief Sukhdev Singh Gogamedi. However, the report further mentioned a source claiming that the police vehicle which is usually stationed outside Salman’s Galaxy apartment was ‘not present’ on Sunday morning, when the shots were fired at the building. The report says, “Sources have said that the police vehicle, which is typically stationed outside Mr Khan’s house, was not present on Sunday morning (sic).”

Police from five states have now teamed up to investigate the matter while the Maharashtra ATS and the National Investigation Agency (NIA) have already requested detailed information on the incident. The case has now been transferred to the Mumbai crime branch which is coordinating with the Delhi, Rajasthan, Haryana and Punjab police on the case.

Meanwhile, as reported by Zee News, both the shooters were living in Mumbai for 15 days and waiting for the right time to execute their plan. One of the shooters who goes by the name Vishal aka Kalu is a wanted criminal, also involved in the Sachin Munjal murder case in Gurugram. Many questions are now left unanswered by the Mumbai police including why they failed to capture the shooters from the ‘wanted list’ who were hiding in the city for the last 15 days. The police have released no official statement on the case yet. The investigation continues. Watch this space for all the latest updates in the case!
