    Grand alliance of opposition a sentiment of people: Rahul Gandhi

    Commenting on the state of Indian economy, Rahul said," The petrol prices are burdening the common man, we had asked for fuel to be brought under GST but Govt is not interested."
    Congress president Rahul Gandhi once again lashed out at the ruling BJP-led dispensation and categorically stated that a grand alliance of opposition parties led by Congress would wipe out BJP in the 2019 polls. He said that a grand alliance is an expression of the people and not only the political parties.
    The 47-year-old Congress leader is on a two-day visit to Maharashtra since yesterday. The Congress chief pleaded "not guilty" in a Bhiwandi court on Tuesday in connection with a defamation case filed against him by an RSS worker in 2014.

    The Congress is trying to join together these voices and the work is going on, Gandhi said. Rahul had yesterday accused the Modi government of creating hatred and division in the society and betraying farmers as well as youth in the country.
