NEET PG applicants have been demanding a reduction in the cut-off marks for the medical entrance exam. The National Medical Commission (NMC) will soon lower the cut-off marks for the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test for admission to post-graduation courses in the medical field, says reports. 

Talking to The Indian Express, NMC member Dr Harish Gupta said that the reduction in NEET PG cut-off 2023 will not be a compromise to the quality of education of the medical students. 

Although, there has been no official announcement regarding the same many media reports have confirmed the reduction of NEET PG 2023 cut-off marks. Earlier, the Federation of Resident Doctors Association (FORDA) and the Indian Medical Association (IMA) demanded a reduction in NEET PG cut-off criteria.

The current NEET PG 2023 cutoff percentile for general category candidates is set at 50 per cent. For PwD categories, it was set at 45 per cent, and for reserved categories, it is fixed at 40 per cent.

Meanwhile, the results for NEET PG round 3 were result to be released on September 16 which is yet to be out.
