Yogi Adityanath says if BJP comes to power in Telangana, Karimnagar will be renamed Karipuram to ‘respect sentiments of people’
Hyderabad: It appears that the UP Chief Minister is not quite done with renaming districts in his state and wants to now focus on other states too. Campaigning for the BJP in poll-bound Telangana on Wednesday, Yogi Adityanath said that if his party came to power in the state, it would rename Karimnagar district as ‘Karipuram’. This, he said, would be in keeping with the people’s sentiments. (Also read: Cong Leader Detained Ahead of KCR Rally)
Addressing an election rally, Yogi said, “If BJP comes to power in Telangana then BJP will work for renaming Karimnagar into ‘Karipuram’ and respect your sentiments.”
Earlier, addressing a rally in Hyderabad, Adityanath had called upon voters in Telangana to elect a BJP government in the state if they wanted to see Hyderabad city becoming ‘Bhagyanagar’.
