PM Modi speaks to Japan's Yoshihide Suga

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday spoke with his Japanese counterpart Yoshihide Suga for the first time since the latter was elected to the office, the Prime Minister's Office said on Friday. PM Narendra Modi congratulated Yoshihide Suga on his appointment as the Japan prime minister and also wished him success in achieving his goals.

PM Narendra Modi and Japan PM Yoshihide Suga also spoke about boosting the ties between the two countries based upon mutual trust and shared values.

The two leaders agreed that the strategic and global partnership between India and Japan has advanced over the years.
