New Zealand pacer Ben Lister became the first coronavirus replacement in cricket history on Tuesday when playing in the domestic Plunket Shield fixture he came into the Auckland team to replace Mark Chapman.

Chapman, who was earlier included in the Auckland team for their Plunket Shield fixture against Otago at Eden Park's Outer Oval, felt unwell on Monday and was later withdrawn pending the outcome of a COVID-19 test.

The 26-year-old, who has played limited overs cricket for New Zealand, can rejoin the game if his test result comes back negative.
