New Delhi: A major explosion rocked a Hezbollah stronghold in southern Lebanon on Tuesday as thick grey smoke was seen billowing over Ein Qana village, which is about 50 km away from the capital city of Beirut.

According to local reports, several people have been injured. A few broadcasters have also reported casualties, however, no exact figure has been made available.

It was not immediately clear as to what caused the blast. However, security sources said that the area had been cordoned off by Hezbolla, a prominent political Shia Muslim group.
