A youth threw ink at Union Minister of State for Health and Family Welfare Ashwani Kumar Choubey when he was visiting Patna Medical College and Hospital (PMCH) on Tuesday to know the condition of dengue patients.

The youth, Nishant Jha, though, escaped from the spot soon after the incident.

“The ink was thrown on public, democracy and the pillar of democracy,” said Mr. Choubey.

After prolonged waterlogging in some areas of Patna recently, the number of dengue patients has gone high. Everyday hundreds of patients suffering from dengue are being admitted in the hospital.

Later, the youth, speaking to a private news channel, said he belonged to the Jan Adhikar Party (Secular) of former MP from Madhepura Rajesh Ranjan alias Pappu Yadav. But, he threw ink at the Minister in his personal capacity as he was “perturbed over the rising number of dengue patients” in the city and the “government was doing nothing”.
