FIR should be registered against Khattar, Goel for sexist remarks, acts: DCW

The Delhi Commission for Women on Saturday wrote to the police seeking registration of an FIR against Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Khattar and BJP MP Vijay Goel for their alleged misogynistic remarks against Kashmiri women.

In the letter, it said: “Such statements by those in high constitutional offices reinforce the notions of a patriarchal society and severely undermine the value and voice of women and girls.”

The DCW said the notice was issued to the force after the commission took suo-motu cognisance of reports pertaining to Mr. Goel using pictures of “Kashmiri girls” on hoardings near his residence and statements made by Mr. Khattar.
