Lok Janshakti Party (LJP) president Chirag Paswan Thursday stepped up his attack on Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, challenging him to contest the Bihar Assembly election 2020. Chirag Paswan questioned why Nitish Kumar has not contested any Bihar Assembly election after 2005 and took a swipe at him saying, the chief minister "does not have direct communication with people" in the state.

Speaking exclusively to India Today TV, Chirag Paswan said, "My father won Lok Sabha elections nine times. Nitish Kumar should contest the Bihar Assembly election 2020 to know the problems people are facing. Nitish Kumar does not have direct communication with people of the state."

Calling Nitish Kumar an "arrogant" person, Chirag Paswan said as a son, he felt extremely bad when his father, Ram Vilas Paswan, was humiliated by the Bihar chief minister. Chirag Paswan charged Nitish Kumar for trying to defeat LJP candidates during the 2019 Lok Sabha elections.
