The British Academy of Film and Television Arts (BAFTA) Awards have been announced. Adarsh Gourav, who had been nominated in the Best Actor category for Netflix's The White Tiger, has lost the award to The Father actor Sir Anthony Hopkins. The White Tiger also lost in the Best Adapted Screenplay category. Christopher Hampton and Florian Zeller bagged the award for The Father. The BAFTA ceremony was held virtually over two nights, with nominees joining in by video, due to the Covid-19 pandemic.

Priyanka Chopra also attended the BAFTA Awards this year with her husband Nick Jonas. She presented the EE Rising Star Award to Bukky Bakray. The actress wore a beautiful red embroidered jacket with white harem trousers for the red carpet. For the award ceremony she was seen in a black ensemble.

The US road film Nomadland won four awards in the categories Best Film, Best Actress, Best Director and Best Cinematography. Nomadland is one of the frontrunners for this month's Oscars, with six nominations. Last month it won Golden Globe Awards for Best Drama Film and Best Director. Double Oscar-winning director Ang Lee, best known for Brokeback Mountain and Crouching Tiger Hidden Dragon, bagged BAFTA Academy Fellowship.
