After four-day Karnataka visit, Rahul Gandhi confident of Congress prospect in poll-bound state

Winding up his four-day campaign in poll-bound Karnataka, Congress president Rahul Gandhi today asserted there was a "good atmosphere" for his party in the state.

"It was a good visit. I have met lakhs of people, had good interactions. There is a good atmosphere for Congress party," he told reporters after an interaction with professionals and representatives of the business community here. The ruling Congress is seeking to retain power in Karnataka, where Assembly polls are due early this year, while the BJP is eyeing to wrest the only southern state it has ever ruled from it.

The Congress had unseated BJP in Karnataka in 2013.
