After Backlash, Mark Zuckerberg Promises Review Of Content Policies

Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg on Friday said he would consider changes to the policy that led the company to leave up controversial posts by the US President Donald Trump during recent demonstrations protesting the death of an unarmed black man while in police custody, a partial concession to critics.

Facebook Inc is looking at improving the social network's content policies, while building products to advance racial justice, Chief Executive Officer Mark Zuckerberg said on Friday in response to the ongoing protests in the United States.

Zuckerberg's post comes after Facebook faced widespread backlash, including from its own employees, over its decision to leave up controversial posts from President Donald Trump. The Facebook chief was under fire over his refusal to take action on inflammatory posts by Donald Trump that spread misinformation about voting by mail and, many said, encouraged violence against protesters.
