Not only fans of Salman Khan, but others, too, were shocked when the superstar was convicted in the 1998 blackbuck poaching case. Salman was sentenced to five years of imprisonment with a fine of Rs 10,000. The verdict was announced on April 5. He was locked in the Central Jail of Jodhpur for two nights as his lawyers tried hard to get him out on bail and the verdict was announced in his favour. As soon as the bail was sanctioned by the Sessions court judge on April 7, Salman’s followers gathered outside the court and rejoiced over his victory.
The actor was released from jail within an hour and he later boarded the charter plane waiting for him at the Jodhpur airport. A couple of hours later, Salman landed in Mumbai with his sisters, Alvira Agnihotri and Arpita Khan Sharma and headed to the Galaxy Apartments, Bandra, where he resides. After meeting his parents, Salman made his way to the flat’s terrace to wave out to his humongous number of fans gathered outside his building.
The crowd literally roared for their favourite actor and the happiness on his face was quite evident.
