2 drown in Mumbai during high tide, rescue and search operation underway

Mumbai: Two unidentified persons drowned at a sea near Marine Drive in Mumbai at around 2:00 PM on Saturday, stated a report. Soon after the incident, a Mumbai Fire Brigade team and Mumbai Police officers rushed to the spot. Rescue operations are underway.

In a similar incident on July 2, two persons who were travelling in a car drowned after their vehicle got stuck in a flooded subway in suburban Malad amid heavy rainfall, stated the police. The incident took place at around 11.30 PM when the two were returning to their homes in Malad (East), a senior police official said. The deceased were identified as Irfan Khan (38) and Gulshad Shaikh (40).
