Over seven months after its release, Swag Se Swagat continues to make records! A first for an Indian song, Salman Khan and Katrina Kaif’s song clocked on over 500 million views on YouTube. Now this is truly remarkable and it comes as no surprise that this Vishal-Shekhar composition has achieved this feat, what with its trendy beats, catchy lyrics and stunning visuals making it the perfect party number.
For the uninitiated, the song was shot in Greece and featured 100 dancers including ballerinas, hip-hop and Afro-dance hall performers from Greece, France, Trinidad and Tobago, among other countries. Add to it Salman and Katrina coming back together onscreen after five years. What more does it take to make a super duper hit number. In case you didn’t already know, Swag se swagat also has an Arabic version sung by Rabih Baroud and Brigitte Yaghi. It was translated by Mohammad Jad Malak. “As the song is a chartbuster here in India and the film is shot in the Middle East and focuses on a major issue that affects the region, we were very keen to engage with audiences there,” director Ali Abbas Zafar had said.
